Lucy Sykes is well-known among New York's social elite, but she's about to become a household name with moms across America.

The British-born Sykes, who left her post as fashion director of Marie Claire to launch her own children's clothing label early last year, announced in September that she is teaming up with Stride Rite for an exclusive collection of kids' footwear.

For Sykes, a self-confessed "shoeaholic," footwear is a plum piece in a growing lifestyle business that already includes layette, bedding, diaper bags and women's apparel. "I adore, adore, adore shoes," she said.
