Bob Lord doesn't define himself as a marketer or technologist - but he's clearly at the center of the digital revolution.

As the regional president of East Coast interactive agency Avenue A/Razorfish East, Lord advises big-name companies on harnessing the Internet as an effective marketing tool.

In his presentatioan, he outlined some of the advanced tactics companies are using to connect with their customers online, calling out the efforts of brands such as Ford, Dove, Ann Taylor and JCPenney.

"These days, the term 'digital Internet' is all about choice, so are you going to allow your customers to talk about your brand with you?" he asked.
