Rockwell buys Sequencia's batch software, service businesses.(Rockwell Automation and Sequencia Corp.)(Brief Article)

Control Engineering, December, 2000

Milwaukee, Wis.--Rockwell Automation announced Oct. 26 that it has bought Sequencia Corp.'s (Phoenix, Ariz.) batch software and services businesses for an undisclosed amount. The transaction adds Sequencia's Responsive Process Manufacturing Series (rpmSeries) product suite and 56 related employees to Rockwell's process offerings.

Honeywell and GE Fanuc are among firms that license Sequencia's batch software. Rockwell Automation says it intends to honor and support existing OEM relationships. The rpmSeries suite--oBatch, mTrack, sProduction, and eProcedure--helps customers manage and execute batch applications. The affected employees will join Rockwell's recently formed Software and Services Group, but will remain in their current locations in Phoenix and Cincinnati.
