West Kingston, RI -- American Power Conversion (APC) and Rockwell Automation have introduced a jointly developed, uninterruptible power system (UPS), Allen Bradley Bulletin 1609 Industrial AC UPS, which is designed for use in factory environments. This system provides backup power to critical devices in the control scheme in the event of power interruptions.

The two companies add that 1609 UPS is the result of a joint collaboration that began in 2003, when APC joined the Rockwell's North American Encompass partner program, 1609 UPS provides battery backup for process critical devices, such as industrial PCs, programmable logic controllers (PLC), data-logging human machine interfaces (HMIs), and control panels, in case of a power dips, sags, or outage.
