Key to the design of the U.S. Trust branch office by Mancini Duffy Associates was the successful integration of a classical style within a modernist glass shell. The classical style employed was not a rehash of predictable motifs, but rather a contemporary interpretation that satisfied both the conservative clients and the creative minds of the Mancini Duffy team represented by Robert D. Buckley, ASID, IBD (spokesman), Julio Lio and Frank Gramieri. U.S. Trust is a well established banking concern catering to an affluent clientele and consequently required a conservative image.
