FEDERAL REALTY INVESTMENT TRUST, a publicly traded corporation based in Rockville, Maryland, is a real estate specialist in the ownership, management, and development of retail properties. As the company's portfolio expanded to its current count of 121 nationwide projects (encompassing both community shopping centers and streetfront stores), its personnel roster grew too. When relocation became necessary, logistics and cost concerns prompted FRIT to look close to home.
