"John Maeda: Nature Eye'm Hungry," at the Fondation Cartier Pour L'Art Contemporain in Paris, presents 14 works by an artist who revels in merging the natural and technological worlds. Commissioned specially for this show, Maeda's firms depict everything from growing grass to falling rain--in an abstract, digital form three to six minutes long. He also programmed his own food-themed interactive computer displays, which arrow visitors to make broccoli jump or to draw their own images on-screen with french fries.

"John would go through 50 or so modifications of his own codes," says curator Leanne Sacramone. "He's one of the rare digital artists who's a computer scientist, too." November 19-February 19; 33-1-4218-56-50; fondation.cartier.fr.
