PRAXAIR RECEIVES NEW PATENT, FILES PATENT INFRINGEMENT SUIT.(patent suit against American Combustion)(Brief Article)

Praxair, Inc., Danbury, CT, has been awarded two new U.S. patents for the company's proprietary coherent jet gas injection technology. At the same time, Praxair has filed suit against American Combustion, Inc., Norcross, GA, for patent infringement.

The new patents--nos. 6,096,26 and 6,125,133--relate to Praxair's latest additions to their patent portfolio for the coherent jet gas injection technology, which is used in metal refining. Four U.S. patents have now been awarded to Praxair for its CoJet system.

In an attempt to guard protect this patented technology, Praxair has filed suit against American Combustion, alleging that the company's PyreJet gas injection system, and its use by the company's customers, infringes upon Praxair's CoJet patents.
