Norton Company, Worcester, MA, has launched Norton Online University, www.nortonabrasives.com, an online source for classroom materials for industrial manufacturing instructors at community colleges and vocational schools.
Norton has prepared lesson plans for abrasives in three general categories, bonded, coated, and superabrasives. The lessons cover proper selection, use and safety procedures and are supplemented by pictures and illustrations. They are available for instructors to download off a password-protected site.
Norton worked with professors from community colleges and vocational schools to determine the content and organization of the lesson plans and accompanying materials.
