'Clear Skies' is path to environmental, energy goals.(George W. Bush's Clear Skies Act)

President Bush's Clear Skies Act permits the coal-burning electric power industry to spread its environmental improvements over a 15-year period. By relying on mandatory caps, Clear Skies would ensure that total power plant emissions would not increase over time. Metalcasters are urged to support the measure.

As the old saying goes, when opportunity knocks, open the door. An environmental opportunity is now knocking on the nation's door. President Bush's "Clear Skies" proposal creates the opportunity to reduce air emissions without putting extra pressure on electricity and natural gas prices. America's electric companies urge the metalcasting industry to tell Congress to let it in.
