Columbus Steel Castings finances scholarships.(Metalcasting News)
Foundry Management & Technology, December, 2004
Columbus Steel Castings aims to be involved with its community, specifically its neighborhood on the south side of Columbus, OH, and a visible sign of that outreach are two $5,000 scholarships CSC has established for seniors at the city's South and Marion High Schools.
CSC produces steel castings for railway carriages. The company was established last year by investors who bought the former Buckeye Steel Castings Co. at a bankruptcy auction. Buckeye operated in the area for more than a century when it closed in 2002.
"We want this community to know we are going to be around here for at least another 100 years. The community has been very supportive of us and we want to be supportive of our community," said company president Craig Holman.
