The American Foundry Society filed comments with the Office of U.S. Trade representative for its annual report to Congress on China's World Trade Organization (WTO) compliance record. Based on member input, AFS identified several areas in which China has not fully complied with rules it agreed to when it joined the WTO in 2001, including undervalued currency, government subsidies to manufacturers via government grants, cheap water and energy rates, and generous loan terms from state-owned banks.
