Ralph Nelson Elliott's 'The Wave Principle' was first introduced on Feb. 19, 1935 when Elliott sent a copy of the treatise to Charles J. Collins of the Investment Council Inc. of Detroit, MI. Collins, who was analyzing the Dow Jones averages for 1935, used Elliott's analyzing techniques which the latter sent to him via telegrams every hour. He was convinced of the efficacy and accuracy of the technique when Elliott accurately predicted the closing lows of the Dow Jones averages a day before the actual values were presented. He wrote a book entitled 'The Wave Principle' which contains Elliot's original treatise.
