Former Tudor partners Mark Pickard and David Siegel along with John Overdeck, a vice president at Amazon.com, are forming Two Sigma Investments, a hedge fund that will have Tudor Group LLC as a major investor.

The new venture will trade investor capital using computer-driven market-neutral quantitative trading strategies. Pickard will serve as president with Siegel and Overdeck serving as co-chairmen. Pickard notes that Tudor has provided all of the seed capital for the venture and has pledged to be a large investor.

Though Two Sigma plans to launch the hedge fund by early 2002, Pickard says the commitment by Tudor will allow Two Sigma time to model new strategies.
