Among pomp and circumstance not usually associated with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU), the CME and Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) pledged to pursue joint business development initiatives in derivatives products at a media event at the March FIA conference in Boca Raton, Fla.
In addition, the CME announced an education initiative inviting officials of the SHFE and China's regulatory bodies to visit Chicago and participate in programs giving them a view of CME operations and fundamentals into U.S. financial futures markets.
