* Airborne 1 Corporation is participating in two joint ventures that have been awarded 5-year contracts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency. Both projects involve performing riverine and coastal flood insurance studies in support of the agency's flood-hazard mapping and map-modernization program. Airborne 1 also recently released QT Modeler and QT Reader, a 3-D visualization package that enables laser-terrain mapping professionals to visualize high-resolution LIDAR (light detection and ranging) data. The software was developed using 3-D chips originally intended for the gaming market and can process 200-million-point models.
