BAE Systems plc and Finmeccanica Spa are to establish a partnership, Eurosystems, to merge their European defence electronic systems activities in three majority-controlled JVs

BAE Systems plc and Finmeccanica Spa are to establish a partnership, Eurosystems, to merge their European defence electronic systems activities in three majority-controlled JVs. One JV will specialise in systems integration and C4ISR, and will be majority owned and managed by BAE Systems: it will be formed from AMS (a 50-50 JV of BAE Systems and Finmeccanica) and BAE SYSTEMS C4ISR (less communications).

Number two JV will be a communications systems business, to be majority owned and managed by Finmeccanica, formed from the existing activities of Marconi Selenia Communications and the communications activities of BAE Systems C4ISR. Number three JV will be an avionics business, to be majority owned and managed by Finmeccanica, formed from activities within BAE Systems Avionics and Finmeccanica's Galileo Avionica.
