Children's Business, August, 2000 by Rooney, Kimm
Located on a charming street in the Chicago suburb of Lincoln Park, Piggy Toes is the whimsical creation of Mary Fink and her daughter Jennifer Thomas, a former Nordstrom children's footwear buyer. Painted piggies outfitted with tiny shoes dance across the walls of this brand new shoe store, while a checkerboard pattern in yellow, green and eggplant purple adorns the floor.
The 700-square-foot shop uses church pews covered in purple velvet for seating, and it displays its mostly European shoe selection in vintage shadow boxes and molding. Piggy Toes also carries hosiery, hair accessories and luxurious toiletries.
