Nordstrom plays it a little high and a little low. The national department store carries brands, such as Guess, Quiksilver and Little Me, frequently found at traditional department stores; fashion icons such as Juicy Couture, Monkeywear and Catimini, found at Neiman's and Saks; as well as brands that are hard to find anywhere. The result is reportedly one of the most varied assortments of kids' apparel in the American marketplace.

"We actively look for new vendors to bring great product to our customers," says Marci Scott, kids' wear vp/corporate merchandise manager.

Children's apparel and accessories accounts for four percent of overall sales, according to Nordstrom's annual report....
