Atlanta -- Bedding major Simmons Co. is acquiring the crib mattress and related soft goods business of Simmons Juvenile Products Co., which has been a licensee of Simmons, for an undisclosed amount.
The acquisition, expected to close by the end of this month, includes Simmons Juvenile Products' operations in York, Pa.; Oshkosh, Wis.; and Ontario, Calif.
The deal does not include Simmons Juvenile's wood product line, which includes cribs and case goods made at the company's New London, Wis., plant.
Industry sources say that Delta Enterprise plans to purchase the wood division of Simmons Juvenile. Delta President Joe Shamie wouldn't comment.
