Dorel takes over top spot in gear revenues; top three manufacturers stay ahead of the pack.(By the Numbers)

While numerous producers compete within the infant gear market, only three--Dorel, Graco and Evenflo--own the lion's share. The top three together sold an estimated $700 million to $850 million worth of carseats, strollers, high chairs, playards and the like in 2003, as revealed in this exclusive ranking of the top infant gear producers.

There's a shakeup in the top three. Dorel Juvenile Group displaced Graco to nab the top spot. Columbus, Ind.-based Dorel garnered an estimated $300 million to $350 million in 2003 gear revenues. Sales for Dorel's entire Juvenile division increased 26.8% to $670.1 million in 2003.
