Recent efforts indicatethat Europe is bracing itself for the onset of the information revolution. The EC has just sponsored the G7 Information Summit in Brussels, Belgium, wherein government leaders from the seven biggest industrial nations in the world and officials of high-technology companies examined the prospects of information technology. It also seeks to dismantle monopolies and encourage competition by opening markets.
