California gave the nation the Frisbee disc, McDonald's, the microchip, Silicon Valley and lots of employee-friendly laws. Employee rights that start in California spread to other states as quickly as plaintiffs' attorneys draft lawsuits and employee advocates get lawmakers' ears.
