Sun's Colors Group Names Lewis Director of Communications and Regulatory Affairs

Sun Chemical Corporation has appointed Dr. Peter A. Lewis director - communications and regulatory affairs for the its colors group. He will be responsible for managing all product safety and hazardous material transportation programs for the colors group. In addition, Dr. Lewis will be working closely with corporate communications to coordinate activities with customers, employees and the press. He will also represent the colors group with trade associations such as the Society of Chemical Manufacturers and National Paint & Coatings Association.
"This move is intended to provide continued management focus on compliance with environmental regulations, as well as on improved internal and external communications throughout the Color Group," said Peter Ludwig, corporate senior vice president and COO, pigment division, to whom Dr. Lewis will report.
Dr. Lewis joined Sun Chemical in 1980 as research chemist. During his career with Sun Chemical, he held various positions as quinacridone product manager, technical service manager and dry color product manager. His most recent position at Sun Chemical was coatings industry manager. Prior to joining Sun Chemical, he worked with the organics division of ICI (now Avecia) in various technical and production positions.
