Lucite International offers resins for rad-cure inks

Ink World, August, 2003

Lucite International's Elvacite 4026, 4054 and 4059 resins are solid acrylic bead resins that have been specially developed for use as performance enhancing additives in a range of radiation curable inks and coatings. These enhancements stem from the use of novel polymer chemistry that enables Lucite to confer these resins with a unique, UV reactive macromolecular design.

They are designed for use in applications such as radiation curable silk screen inks, wood coatings and plastic coatings. Elvacite 4026 is the primary resin of choice for most applications. Elvacite 4054 and 4059 may be particularly useful where highest solubility or compatibility with a wider range of UV monomers and oligomers is required. Added benefits include faster cure rate, reduced shrinkage, improved chemical and solvent resistance and enhanced adhesion to substrate and improved intercoat adhesion.
