U.S. Internet Industry Association

Agri Marketing, April, 2008

A U.S. Internet Industry Association study reports the adoption of broadband Internet has been faster than any other technology.

Broadband took ten years for 50% of the U.S. population to adopt it. That compares to 18 years for personal computers and color TV, 15 years for cell phones and 14 years for video cassette recorders.

The study, "Deployment of Broadband to Rural America; An Evaluation of Current Broadband Services to Rural Americans and The Impact of Internet Public Policy On Broadband Deployment," can be found at http://usiiamedia.com.
