BASF Corp., Research Triangle Park, N.C., selects Stephen Briggs as director of the specialty products department, which includes the company's professional turf and ornamental, vegetation management, forestry, pest control and turf fungicide businesses. Most recently, he served as vice president of TopPro Specialties, a subsidiary of BASF.

Before that, he was vice president and general manager of specialty products for American Cyanamid. Briggs also spent more than six years at the University of Illinois as an extension entomologist.
