The expectations formation process was found to have a significant inertia component but also a quick adjustment to current information. It was also found to mirror voters' ability to translate economic expectations into political predictions and to be 'time-bounded,' or taking on a special character during interelection times. The existence of a small bandwagon effect, wherein expectations of one party's victory will increase that party's vote, is confirmed.
