This book makes the argument that the perception of an "age of terrorism" is fading away with the Cold War: "The multitude of challenges that exist to the stability of the international political system makes it unlikely that the world will remain preoccupied with the covert violence of small groups, even if it is a common occurrence" (p. 189).
