Has cable ended the golden age of presidential television?.

A study was conducted to determine if the Americans' growing disaffection and/or the popularity of cable television are the reasons for the decrease in viewership of presidential television. Using a model of individual's viewing decision, it was shown that the Americans' fondness for watching cable television have led them to skip television programs featuring the government and its policies. Political disaffection has no relation on audience decrease of presidential television.
