Street fare: the photography of Philip-Lorca Dicorcia.

The scenes captured by Philip-Lorca diCorcia delved on life in city streets. He focused on everyday mundane events that were given dramatic coloring through the use of artificial lights. The photographs are similar to still-life pictures taken from motion pictures except that the characters are anonymous. His art seemed to highlight modern living's imitation of films. The unintentional focus given to the people who were oblivious to diCorcia's camera lent a sense of detachment and alienation to the subjects.
