Paige S., 14, knows what a pain a foot injury can be. "I hurt my feet doing ballet," says the Boston teen. "I started doing pointe--which is when you dance on your toes--and I had to go to physical therapy to learn how to properly stretch my feet before and after dance," she says.

Despite Paige's injury, she admits that she spends more time thinking about what shoes to wear, from flip-flops to Converse sneakers, than about how to keep her feet pain-free. "I don't really think about [shoes] hurting my feet, although sometimes the high heels hurt after a while," Paige confesses.
