Lean manufacturing initiative underway at Raabe
JCT CoatingsTech, May, 2004
The Raabe Corporation, Menomonee Falls, WI, with the assistance of the Wisconsin Manufacturing Extension Partnership (WMEP), is implementing the principles of lean manufacturing throughout the company. Initiated last year, Raabe and WMEP conducted a training session for 45 employees on general lean principles.
The company is being led through this process by WMEP to gain experience that they can then apply to other processes. Raabe is working on the 5S System in their aerosol packaging and paint match departments, with plans to include other areas at a later date. A key factor to implementing the lean culture is listening to employees and their ideas about how things could be run more efficiently.
