FutureCoat! Introduced at ICE 2006: new cutting-edge coatings conference

JCT CoatingsTech, June, 2006

The Federation of Societies for Coatings Technology will introduce a major new technical conference in 2006. To be known as FutureCoat!, this annual conference will examine the most innovative methodologies and applications shaping the future of the coatings industry. The first FutureCoat! will be held in conjunction with ICE 2006, at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA, from November 1-3. Separate registration is required to attend.

Geared towards an international audience, the intense three-day program will feature highly focused tracks. In 2006, FutureCoat! sessions will range from green chemistry, formulating, pigments/additives, and manufacturing, to instrumentation and analysis. General interest sessions will examine such topics as corrosion, nanotechnology, weathering/durability, and high throughput.

On Wednesday, November 1, FutureCoat! will begin with the Keynote Address, "A Tale of Two Perspectives: Hurricanes, Energy, the Consumer and What It Means for Coatings" by Duncan H. Meldrum, Air Products & Chemicals, Inc. Additional program highlights include the prestigious Mattiello Memorial Lecture by Jonathan W. Martin, NIST, on Thursday morning, and the Technical Focus Lecture, by Thomas P. Schuman, University of Missouri-Rolla, on Thursday afternoon.
