Seniors' health care

For marketers of health care products there is no single demographic trend more important than the graying of America. By 2020 the number of senior citizens in the United States will increase by more than 55% to 53 million. It is this group that purchases no less than 71% of all prescription drugs and 37% of all over-the-counter medications, as well as half of all cold, allergy and sinus remedies. Their interest in self-care as well as their expanding numbers present an enormous opportunity.
