Third quarter profits up 20% at Dollar Tree

> THIRD QUARTER PROFITS UP 20% AT DOLLAR TREE: Dollar Tree Inc. reported a 20% rise in third quarter net income to $43.1 million, or 47 cents per share, on a 12% increase in sales to $1.11 billion. Analysts polled by Thomson Financial had forecast a profit of 44 cents per share, on average. Food and seasonal merchandise were the strongest sellers, according to management, which raised its full-year earnings guidance to a range of $2.45 to $2.53 per share.
