Linx Data Terminals' VIII data collection alternative is suited for those situations when the familiar look and feel of the Microsoft Windows interface and management tools are desired. Running Microsoft's next-generation embedded operating system, called CE.NET, LINX VIII allows users to apply their own Microsoft desktop development skills with off-the-shelf Visual Studio .NET to create solutions. In conjunction with custom Linx hardware drivers, users can interface to myriad data-collection devices including bar code, digital I/O, wireless LAN, proximity (RFID) readers, and biometrics. Whether users are VB.NET or C# programmers, they will be able to quickly deploy custom applications that can interact with Microsoft database technologies without middleware.
