00-00-0000 Engineers at Compaq Computer Corp. were temporarily stumped for ways to check the interior assembly of an electronic pen they were developing for a notebook computer. The only opening into the pen was a 0.12- in. diameter hole through the ferrite magnet near its tip.
Fortunately, Compaq designers had used an Olympus Miniborescope to see inside other inaccessible areas and, since its diameter is only 0.106 in., it could slide through that opening. The borescope let Compaq engineers see how the plastic molding met the gold-plated circuitry ...
