EDM International Inc., Fort Collins, Cob. (www.edmlink.com), and Southwest Research Institute (SWRI), San Antonio, Tex, (www.swri.otg), have devised a video device to monitor ground clearance of power lines. A video camera is sealed in a weatherized housing that mounts on a pole. It points at a simple reflective surface secured to the transmission line.
