It would be very beneficial for the professional organizations in the arts to provide guidance on how to assess teaching in the arts. They could provide a depth of information, methods, concepts, and contents and ways to determine if higher order thinking is going on in the classroom. I think principals would be relieved, and the guidance would be appreciated.
