Cultural Policies in Kenya.

In most newly independent African countries, the post-1970s emphasis on culture was marked by the setting up of government bodies to formulate cultural policies. Ministries of culture were either established or reorganized and cultural councils instituted. The Organization of African Unity's Cultural Charter for Africa (1976) provided useful guidelines and practical programs to deal with culture.
