To many people around the world the continent of Africa calls to mind images of color, dance and rhythm. It is a continent often associated with energetic music, with dust thrown up by feet pounding the earth in dance and sweat pouring off glistening bodies as dancers pour out their energy to the pulsation of the drums. That is the romantic image. To some people the images of African wars, drought, starvation, and hopelessness are the ones that immediately come to mind.
