There is no question that those who teach any of the arts now see the role and responsibility of arts educators as different from the task of teachers a century ago. Moreover, we can assume that what people know about the arts and what they will seek to accomplish as teachers a hundred years from now will be dramatically different from presently held views. Changed circumstances as well as different media and technologies will surely alter the term and concept of "arts education." Indeed, one would hope that that will be the case.
