Trials of the first domestic Chinese digital TV broadcasting platform has been successfully completed in Nanning, Guangxi province and will be put into service in the near future, according to the China High Technology Industry Guide. The Guide said that audiences would be able to watch up to 200 digital TV channels as well as enjoy radio, information, and Internet access. The guide predicted that the system would be in operation in another 10 markets this year, 30 markets by 2003 and nationwide by 2005.
