Under the slogan "No fiction -- just reality", Panasonic paraded a large range of SD and HD systems including its first venture into creative filmmaking -- ironically a field most strongly associated with fiction.

The DVCproHD AJ-HDC27V is a variable frame rate camcorder that boasts a data rate of 100 Mbit/s, and can be set to shoot in individual steps from 4 to 33 frames per second with additional settings of 36, 40, and 60 frames. No bigger than a normal DVCpro machine, the camcorder records up to 46 minutes in 24P mode (24fps progressive scan) at a data rate of 100Mbit/s.
