The broadcasting industry in India has seen rapid growth and rapid change over recent months. Over five years, the number of television homes has grown a little over 50 per cent from 50 million homes to 79 million currently.

A recent-released Goldman Sachs-Kotak Mahindra study puts the industry's future prospects on the fast track, forecasting that the number of television homes would go up by 42 per cent to 110 million by the year 2005.
