Thailand's post production industry experienced a stormy year in 2001, interspersed with some sparsely-seeded rays of sunshine. Most of the sector's key players felt the pinch triggered by the September 11 events in the US and the downturn in the American economy.
Multi-national companies in Thailand slashed their advertising budgets and, in a chain reaction, that had a negative impact on advertising agencies, which eventually reached the post houses. Additionally, domestic clients haven't over-indulged in their advertising spend since the Asian economy went haywire in 1997.
