Ten years ago, Murray Charteris began his career in television at Video Image Productions, Brisbane, doing 3D animation and compositing effects for commercials. He spent 12 months doing animation in Papua New Guinea for local television before joining Channel Nine, Brisbane in 1995.

He became videographics supervisor in 1997 and has won a Gold World Medal in New York for the opening title sequence of Bush Beat, an entry that was also a finalist in the 2000 Australian Effects and Animation Festival.
