The country's film and television industry regulator, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television (SARFT), has approved the establishment of a second film distribution company to compete with monopoly film importer and distributor, the China Film Group (CFG). Huaxia Film Distribution Co has been granted the country's second licence to distribute films throughout the country; CFG maintains its monopoly on the importation of some 20 foreign films annually into China.
