Chinese broadcasting industry regulator, State Administration of Radio, Film & Television (SARFT), has announced the second round of cities throughout the country to begin digital TV trials. An initial round of 33 cities are now in the process of wrapping up three-month long digital TV trials.
Under the trial system customers must pay deposits ranging from RMB500 (US$60) to RMB1,000 (US$120) for a set-top box, but can return the STB for a complete refund of their deposit at the end of the trial period if they are not satisfied with the service. The next cities to begin trials are ...
